Frequently asked questions

How does Vouchee work?
You post your request, describing your home, the tasks, and the rate you're happy to pay.

Local, vetted cleaners apply to you — you review their profiles, chat, and choose who feels right.

Once you accept a cleaner, everything is confirmed via email and you're ready to go.
Do I have to search for a cleaner myself?
No — that's the whole point. You post your request and cleaners apply to you.

You review their profile, ratings and reviews, chat with them, and choose who feels right.
How long does it take to find a cleaner?
Most customers receive their first application within a few hours, and many secure a cleaner within a couple of days.
What areas do you cover?
We currently cover Horsham and surrounding areas, including Broadbridge Heath, Southwater, Kilnwood Vale, Mannings Heath, Christ's Hospital and Warnham.

How much does Vouchee cost?
The Vouchee service fee is £39.96/month for weekly cleans (£9.99 × 4), £29.98/month for fortnightly (£14.99 × 2), or £24.99/month for monthly. Billed by Direct Debit — no commission on what you pay your cleaner, no booking fees.
How do I pay my cleaner?
You pay your cleaner directly — cash, bank transfer, or whatever you agree between yourselves. Vouchee only handles the service fee via Direct Debit. We never take a cut of your cleaner's earnings — what you pay them is entirely between you and them.
What does the service fee cover?
It covers everything you get from the platform: the vetting, the matching, the messaging system, the reviews, access to cover cleans, and ongoing support. Think of it like a small subscription that grants you access to some of the most trusted self-employed cleaners in Horsham — while making choosing one effortless.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. Just give 30 days' notice. Your Direct Debit will be cancelled and no further payments will be taken. Your cleaner will be notified and given fair warning about their final clean.
How are cleaners vetted?
Every cleaner must provide a valid DBS certificate, public liability insurance, and proof of their right to work in the UK.

We also personally interview each cleaner to ensure they meet our standards.
When does my cleaner get my address?
Only once you've accepted them and confirmed a start date. Your address is never shown in your listing or shared during the application or chat stage. It's only sent to your chosen cleaner once everything is confirmed.
What if I'm not happy with my cleaner?
If something doesn't feel right, you can repost your request in seconds and have new cleaners apply.

We'll also discount your first clean with a new cleaner to help you get back on track.

You can also contact us anytime at support@vouchee.co.uk
Can my cleaner work for other people too?
Yes — cleaners on Vouchee are self-employed and free to take on other clients. Vouchee is a marketplace, not an employer. This means cleaners set their own standards and rates, which often leads to higher quality and consistency.
Can I pause my listing?
Yes — you can pause anytime from your dashboard. Your cleaner relationship stays intact, and you can restart whenever you're ready. Your Direct Debits will also be put on hold until you continue.
Do I have to commit long-term?
No — you can cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. There's no long-term contract, so you're always in control.
Can I change how often I have a clean?
Yes — just check with your cleaner and let us know at support@vouchee.co.uk, and we'll update your plan.

Your monthly service fee will adjust automatically.
What happens if my cleaner cancels?
Your cleaner will usually rearrange directly with you at a time that works.

If none of their alternatives suit and you need a clean sooner, you can request a cover clean from your dashboard — local cleaners will be notified and can offer to help.
How do I join Vouchee as a cleaner?
Click here and complete the short application — it takes around 4 minutes.

We'll review it and get back to you shortly.
Do I need my own insurance and DBS?
Yes — all three are required: a valid DBS check, public liability insurance, and the right to work in the UK.

If you don't have everything yet, we can help point you in the right direction once you've applied.
How do I get paid?
Customers pay you directly — cash, bank transfer, or whatever you agree.

Vouchee doesn't take a cut of your hourly rate. We charge a small fee to customers for using the platform, not cleaners.
Can I choose which jobs I take?
You apply only to the jobs you want, in the areas you choose.

You're self-employed — you set your own schedule, your own rate, and choose your own clients. We simply help you find customers.
