Here's the rule, and there are no exceptions. A cleaner on Vouchee can only be reviewed by a customer they have actually cleaned for, through the normal booking process.

Before a review can be submitted, our system checks three things: that the reviewer is a real Vouchee customer, that they had a confirmed and paid cleaning arrangement with that specific cleaner, set up through Vouchee, and that the arrangement actually went ahead. If those things aren't true, the review simply can't be left. A cleaner can't review themselves. A friend can't leave a five-star review as a favour, because a friend who never booked a clean has nothing to review.

We also limit how often the same customer can review the same cleaner, so a profile builds up a genuine track record over time rather than a burst of reviews all written in one week.

For cleaners, your work speaks for itself

This matters just as much for the cleaners on Vouchee, and the genuinely good ones tell us they appreciate it. The old way of building a reputation was frustrating. You could be reliable, thorough, and trusted by every client you had, and still sit next to someone online who had simply collected reviews from friends.

Because every Vouchee review comes from a real, paid clean, you can read them at face value. A few things to look for when you compare applicants:

• Recent reviews. A steady stream over months says more than a cluster from one week.
• Repeated themes. The same words coming up, like punctual, thorough or trustworthy, tend to be true.
• How they handle an off day. An honest, middling review with a calm reply tells you a lot about someone.
• Reviews from homes like yours. Similar size, pets, or the kind of regular schedule you want.

The honest, middling reviews are there on purpose. A profile that reads as genuinely human, rather than a wall of fives, is usually the one to trust.
